Default gun racks

hey guys, got a 2001 cc and I bought these gun racks that go on a quad. is it safe to mount these on the front cowl using flat square support blocks underneath? I just thought the horizontal racks would be easier on the rifles when hunting...

I know its not an answer to your question, but I have always wanted to mount a 1919 to mine.

Wish i still had my 1919.

You might end up with the cowl tearing if your trails are as bumpy as the oness I travel where I hunt.
I added a couple of cross pieces to the box on the back of my box. The cross pieces attach to the lip of the box and support a basket in which I load my backpack and other loose items. 4 uprights from the cross peices support 2 other pieces that hold the whole mess together front to back. I attached a double rifle holder to the last 2 pieces so the rifles are elevated to allow access to the basket.
The cart is at the ranch 5 hours away or I would have taken some better pictures.
I used 1" square tubing, a basket from Lowe's, table leg inserts from Lowe's (keep from snagging stuff on the end cuts of the tubing), 1/2 inch bolts, washers and nyloc nuts.
There is still plenty of room in the box for deer and/or hogs and I think a deer will slide under the crosspieces without a problem. I'll be trying it out this fall.
The rifle rack is not shown attached in the pictures.

Here is the front rack on mine i built with bow and gun holders. And pvc tubing also for pole holders. Just pull up to the lake and use them for catfishing.
