I want to take this time to thank scotty,kenny99,72 volt and anyone one else that help me bring the old "toaster oven..ha..ha back to life. It took a new solenoid, micro switch ,cleaning and some wire rearranging but it is running good! That may be my next problem..it runs to good! I can smell the resistors heating up know. It did'nt do that before. I'll drive tit till it goes down again!! Thanks all....stuff....end of thread!

At full throttle the resitors should be bypassed so if you ride wide open for a whiile and still getting the resistors really hot, then you might need to look into a little throttle linkage adjustment to make sure that at full pedal your wiper contact is sitting on the highest contact with a wire coming from it.

Now that you have better connections/more power through the system because you cleaned cables or got better battery power,at partial throttle the resistors have to dissapate more heat so your smell might be normal. Also you might have sprayed something in there during cleaning and it is burning off etc.
