Default Re: club car engine upgrade

Don't get me wrong.I do want a kit.I was just going to see If I could buy the engine seperately on-line from the installation kit, just to save some money.I then would buy the installation kit to install it.For instance I found a range of 300.00 to 400.00 difference in the vanguard engine for the same model. That is a big difference.I also would rather have a kawasaki kit than a Vanguard kit if there is one.If I have to buy the engine and installation kit as one,I would.I just want to try and save money where possible.Sometimes these cart part suppliers drive up the price due to demand.I am just trying to shop smart, not cut corners and piece something together.Hope this makes sense.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Tom does not sell his kits without the engine. It wouldn't be much of a BIG BLOCK kit without the Big Block would it?

I too wanted the Kawasaki because I was not all that big of a fan of Briggs & Stratton engines. Tom informed me that the Vanguard line of engines from B&S is made in Japan by Mitsubishi.

"If" you do decide to go with your own kit, I think that this engine would be your best bet. It may be a little tight, but bigger things have been done.

Before we go any further, I think we need to know what year your cart is. If it's a 1997 or newer, you have a lot more work ahead of you.
