Default Scottie's 2 wire DVM, Voltage reducer and 3 way key switch.

97 TXT DCS 36v.

So after some trial and error, here is how I have the 3-way switch wired:
White with Yellow stripe from harness to B.
Red from Meter to B.
Yellow from harness to I. Black from Meter to negative from battery. The meter now comes on when the key is in first (and 2nd) switched position. When I had the red meter to I, it was on all the time the run/tow switch was on. I prefer to have it on when key is on. This look OK? I thought that B switches I on, unless I have the white with yellow stripe wire and Yellow wire backwards.

Also, I would like to have the Voltage Reducer come on in the 2 position on the key switch, then have additional switches to operate the lights and accessories. Is this possible?
Thanks in advance!

The key switch has two different circuits.. position 1 is ignition for cart to run. B and I are that circuit. Position 2 is for lights and B + I stay connected. Second circuit is B1 and L. You could use the second circuit to turn on the reducer but it would be pack voltage.

So that would be 36v (42v in the future) running through B1 and L as well, I assume that is not a problem since 36V is running through B and I.

See attached document. This is how the Ezgo 3 position switch is designed to work.
Can you put 36v into both B and B1 ? I don't see why not. IN which case you could put your reducer (circuit board power supply) on I and the pedal box micro switch power on L. So you can run accessories in the 2nd position and run accessories and the cart on position 3 like an automobile.

The voltage won’t hurt it. If you are just using the switch as a trigger for the reducer it will be fine on the second circuit.. I have also seen where people wired the switch such that the first position just turned on the reducer and the second the ignition.. That way they could listen to the radio with no fear of the cart taking off if the pedal was pushed by mistake..

Still trying to wire the reducer to the 3 way switch. I now have the Trigger wire from the reducer connected to L. Do I simply run a wire from 36v + Battery to B1?

The reason I ask, I saw these posts:

A three position switch has two independent switches. Both are off in the first position, second position makes the first switch, which is just like your two position switch. The third position makes both switches, so you run a + from the battery to one side, and your reducer to the other. (from Yurtle).

And:

There is a way. Ezgo offered a 3 position switch which they used to power 12v lights.
Position 1 was off
Position 2 was 36v power to the pedal box
Position 3 was 36v power to the pedal box and 12v power to the lights.

The 12v portion of the switch is separate from the 36v side. The switch has 2 inputs and 2 out puts. By now you probably know where I'm going.
You could leave the stock F&R supply for the pedal box and bring battery 36v+ for the light side and output this to the DC reducer - so the reducer would be constantly on when the key was in position 3 - See 3 position key switch wire diagram attached. Your constant battery 36v + would come in at B1 and out to reducer at L. (I think this was from JohnnieB.

Thanks again all!
