Default Electric Fuel Pump 2008 Club Car Precedent

I installed an electric fuel pump on my Club Car, wired it to the starter/generator side of the solenoid due to suspecting a faulty vacuum fuel pump, well long story short was the carburetor and not the fuel pump. Replaced the carb and now it runs great. I have the governor turned down a little on it so when you go down a hill the limiter will take out, well when the limiter takes it out if you do not take your foot off the gas before it cuts out when you push the accelerator again it will back fire. I’m assuming this is due to the carb loading up? My question is there any way to avoid this other than turning the governor back up or do I just need to put the vacuum pump back on?

It's gonna do that when you hit the limiter no matter what fuel pump you use.
If the engine is spinning at all it is still sucking fuel through the carburetor. When you're going downhill, it doesn't matter if your foot is on the throttle or not it is pulling fuel through the carb.
Slow down so you don't hit the limiter. The backfire is the least of your problems when the limiter kicks in. You're gonna chuck a rod through the back of the motor if you keep up those sort of speeds.
