Accessory Kit Wiring
There was an accessory kit installed on my cart that has lights, turn signals, and horn. It is tied to Battery 2 and 4. Is there any reason its only tied to 36V instead of 48?

Re: Accessory Kit Wiring
Maybe because it is only a 36 to 12 reducer.

Re: Accessory Kit Wiring
It's running off of 12V since it's connected to 2 6V batteries. That's a cheap, easy way to run accessories.
The most efficient way would be to install a 36-12V converter so that the whole pack is used equally instead of just 2 batteries. Over time those two batteries will wear faster causing the whole pack to wear/drain/fail at a faster rate. |

Re: Accessory Kit Wiring
If you run with lights often and want to get max life out of your pack then change to a 48 to 12 reducer. Then all batteries will be reduced equally. Also maybe when it is time to replace your pack you might consider 6 x 8 volt batts instead of 4 x 12 volt. The 8s will give you longer run times.

Re: Accessory Kit Wiring
Where would I find my current 36 - 12 reducer? In the dash panel?

Re: Accessory Kit Wiring
Battery 4 would be the negative, and battery 2 is probably battery 1 in your series friend. That's my guess. They've tied into the 1st 12 volt cells, and then the negative on the Ned of the series perhaps???
