Re: 48 Volt Solenoid hookup Help
So got my 6 - 8 volt Trojan batteries in today! My battery tray was pretty much toast so am replacing that too. Looks a little trick replacing with the way the front bracket is somehow bolted in right on the edge of the plastic body making getting a screw driver in there interesting.
Anyway, I have a 17 amp 48 volt charger. Will that work with my battery setup? I bought Trojan T-875 with T2 Technology (whatever that is...) |

Re: 48 Volt Solenoid hookup Help
You probably have to remove the rear seat and rear body to replace . It takes a T45 Torx bit to remove those front bolts, and the rear seat back bracket bolts through the back of the battery rack.

Re: 48 Volt Solenoid hookup Help
Got the new tray in. Was a bit of a pain to get around the vertical frame bracing but a few busted knuckles later and it's done! Batteries hooked up.
Now... you say my controller won't work. Got it. What do you all suggest for a replacement? Mostly stock cart. just tooling around the neighborhood. some dirt roads. Not trying to win a race but I do like going faster than the average cart (friend down the road has a stock 36 with larger tires and out runs me so would like to smoke him). Do the controllers come programmed? |

Re: 48 Volt Solenoid hookup Help
Oh and I wanted to ask you guys, how full should the batteries be filled with water? Just above the cells themselves inside the cavity? Or up to the bottom edge of the fill tubes? Mine arrived filled just above the cells inside the cavity. I thought you want it fuller than that?

Re: 48 Volt Solenoid hookup Help
I prefer just above the plates, about 1/4"-1/2" will do.

Re: 48 Volt Solenoid hookup Help
Oh just above the plates. Ok. So as long as they aren't exposed to air I don't need to fill much higher.
I'll check with Scotty on the controller. Thanks! I've got my 36 volt charger I need to sell now too. |
