Re: NEW PROJECT Cart
Are you charging him for labor? $189 + $50/hour = AC.
Back in college, I always found units by the side of the road, and fixed them. The last one was my next door neighbor's. While visiting me, he said "what a redneck neighborhood we live in. The unit wasn't at the curb one hour before someone snatched it up." I asked him, "why do you think it's so cool here? Cost me a capacitor from my redneck parts bin." |

Re: NEW PROJECT Cart
I also have a 3 car garage with 13' ceiling, but my three doors are insulated. I'd still need to insulate three walls. We're probably looking at a motel style AC. I already have enough capacity in my upstairs unit, but ducting and insulating...
I'd rather drink "coolant". |

Re: NEW PROJECT Cart
I threw in the towel late last year on my second post-retirement job, so do the math.
I'm debt free and set for life, after starting with first and last month's rent, and a little extra for food. However, I just learned this month that SS benefits are based on 35 year inflation adjusted average, so working less than 35 years results in years of $0 in the average. Minimum wage is better than $0, so I may have to be a WalMart greeter for 8 years. Got twelve years before I need to get in my 8. |

Re: NEW PROJECT Cart
I got 2 more years till I retire....after 35 yrs at the same place.....have a nice pension....and a 401K to go along with SS. so both me and the wife will have a pensions, we both have 401k's and SS.....we went to her financial planner from work....she took all my info with her, and they estimated that between our pensions, 401ks, and SS, we will end up with somewhere in the neighborhood of 8500 to 10,000 a month coming in...so as long as the world doesn't explode we will have a fairly nice retirement. At least that our plan as of now.
