CC parking brake adjustments
New to the club car golf carts, my buddy at camp was wanting me to look at his cart.. with parking brake set his cart still wants to roll.. I'm guessing possibility of shoes are worn out or maybe just out of adjustment.. first time ever looking at a CC.. any advice on where to start? Thanks in advance

Re: CC parking brake adjustments
Check the adjustment first.
Both the DS and the Precedent have the same style of adjustment. both brake cables join at a cross member and that crossmember is adjusted by an adjusting nut near the brake pedal. This is under the cart on the DS model and on the Precedent model, it is under a panel beneath the floor mat. Edit*** Perhaps, I'm off a little. Do the actual brakes work ok, while diving? I am figuring they are not as unlike an automobile, the brakes and parking brake on your CC are the same where as on a car, they are two different systems. Just wanting to make sure. |

Re: CC parking brake adjustments
Thanks for the quick reply.. I assume that they work because he never stated that he didn't have brakes. I took a quick peek underneath but was lying in gravel. Might just trade him carts and bring his home to work on at home. Thanks again

Re: CC parking brake adjustments
How old is his cart? Does he have the self-adjusting brakes or does he have the older style with the rubber nipple covering the adjuster on the top of the back side of the drum?
If he has newer style you just adjust the tension by the "T" like said before, could be too loose. If it's older style, then remove the rubber nipple and use a 7mm or 8mm wrench to tighten the adjuster a couple of clicks until you can hear the shoe dragging just a little on the drum. |

Re: CC parking brake adjustments
Tighten the adjustment rod until the T bar is 2" below the floorboard. Search the forum for the factory instructions. Someone gave them to me two weeks ago but I can't find them now

Re: CC parking brake adjustments
I did the brake drum flip so that my cables would be so tight and now I have to blares the brake pedal so hard. My cart is a 97 DS and I'm guessing that is the older style of brakes??
