i broke my new batts in by doing very short trips(half mile-mile or so) and fully charging in between....followed by longer trips-recharge,ect...

I would suggest getting an onboard dvm from scottyb at carts unlimited, if you don't already have one. Get one with a digital readout so you can tell what your pack is doing in real time. You can tell exactly when you need to head to the charger. It'll also tell you what the pack is doing under a load. Main thing is keep it charged and don't discharge too much. If you ride it, charge it.
