well that I.D. tag doesn't appear to be an EZGO tag.....its one for "Golf Cart Systems" but there is an EZGO tag somewhere......however, that cart is a Marathon. and IF that company used the year in ITS serial number.....it could be a '87'. Using the serial number look up on the easy go site showed that it wasn't a good number.

if you go to google and search 1987 EZGO MARATHON GOLF CART you will see LOTS of pictures just like yours.

called these people wwwgolfcars.com/
Actually about an hour away from me. I verified it is an 87 Marathon. Thank you for getting me going in the right direction.

Looking for a small lift and I found this.
Amazon.com: 4" Economy Lift Kit EZ-GO Golf Cart-GO Golf Cart GO Electric 19801994.5: Automotive Amazon.com: 4" Economy Lift Kit EZ-GO Golf Cart-GO Golf Cart GO Electric 19801994.5: Automotive

Seems with a little knowledge, i could probably just fab up a home made lift? I work with a lot of structural engineers and welders.

All i want to do right now is fix some panels from rust, sand it down and paint. The add some bigger tires and lift and lights. That will about do me.

The front clip and front suspension looks like 80-85 pre marathon. The windshield mount looks like 86-93 marathon. Seat back is from a TXT '96 or newer. Resister drive looks like a marathon also. Frankencart?

Frankencart HAHA

The only info i have on this cart is that he bought it from someone who fixes and rebuilds these locally. So being that your saying it is pieced together, i wouldn't doubt it.

In looking for a cheap 2-4" lift, should where should i start? Would making something in the shop be out of the question?

Well just for grins I went to EZ-Go's number lookup and put in 802587 and it came back with a 94 Marathon. So who knows but it is a Marathon so a lift for that should work. As for building your own. Completely doable.

I have a 87 Marathon looks just like mine. The front axle is like mine. I made my 4" lift it took longer to make front and rear to save 100.00 on the Economy lift. I did a Scotty B. Upgrade to mine runs sweet now. Have several new parts if you need them. Wiper board plunger 2 ag cables factory crimped solenoid 36 volt new. Used F/R switch

87ish marathon. Make your own lift, blocks front and rear. Easy, I used hockey pucks, the three bolts (well new longer ones)on the front hold the stacked pucks in place, same for the rear.
