Flooded EZGO Workshorses
So I'm new to the buggy world, I bought my first 6 months ago as a project which is nearing its completion.
I have been offered 2 workhorse's that have fallen victim to a flooding... Im being told that both of the buggies are showing 48 volts+ when connected, which i thought is a great sign to start with. Im just a bit curious and thought id ask you guys with far more superior knowledge than me. What do you guys think I'll need to check firstly, prior to buying and secondly, what ill need to change? I can then work out how much I will need to spend and how much profit I can make on selling them. any info is much appreciated. Cheers |

Re: Flooded EZGO Workshorses
What are the failure symptoms? How long were they submerged? You could be looking at rebuilding the motors and speed controllers worst case. The solenoids may be bad now also.

Re: Flooded EZGO Workshorses
Hi, thanks of the quick responses.
they were submerged for 1 day, until they could be pulled out from the rain water flooding. The batteries are fine, both showing 48 volts plus. The lights etc all work, but haven't attempted to move them. I assume it will be a case of pulling all the electrics and and cleaning all the terminals. new starter and motor? |

Congrats on your first build! I am about to finish my second, and its a lot of fun! You didn't mention if they run or not. That would be the first thing that would influence my answer! |

Re: Flooded EZGO Workshorses
the motor will be fine if it got wet. I would pull the controller out and put it in a bag of rice for a few days to make sure there is no left over moisture in it before you start to see if it will work, I know back in the day they use to take rc car motor and brake them in by putting them in a glass of water and running the motor, I wish these companies would start making water proof speed controllers like traxxas does.
