Re: xi 775 1993 model year=== no go
Stu, Just take your time, before you start buying parts.....sit and think exactly how you will use the cart....is it hilly where you are at? just as a cruiser? are you or is it lifted or have larger tires on it? all these thing need to be considered so your finished cart will do what you want/need and will last and be reliable.....oh and btw..... Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to BGW. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wive's, husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!! |

Re: xi 775 1993 model year=== no go
Here is the manual for your cart.
Sounds like you have the ESC version, so the schematic is on page L-12 Does the solenoid click when you push the pedal? If not, the problem is in the solenoid activation circuit. If so, the problem is in the high current circuit. Also, the may be more than one problem, but getting the solenoid to click is the first step. Last edited by JohnnieB; 02-13-2014 at 09:17 AM.. Re: xi 775 1993 model year=== no go
thanks for the help---1993 ezgo series motor
here's what has transpired to this point. Removed the motor---again----. Decided to clean up the commutator on the lathe and then cleaned all the segments. Found some good brushed in another motor and replaced 'em. Removed a broken mount bolt and drilled 2 new mount holes. Put the motor back in the unit and jumped the field winding to the brushes, applied 12 volts and it turned beautifully. Removed and cleaned all the connections to the PMC. I have no control power to the PMC. Have been trying to trace it's source of power from the variable resistor under the foot pedal. I'm certain this is my problem i hope |

Quote:
With the Key ON and a direction selected, you should have B+ on the small pin on the controller with the wire highlighted in red attached to it. When the pedal is pushed, the pedal switch closes and the solenoid should energize. All the variable resistor does is tell the controller how much current it is allowed to pass to the motor. |
