1998 EZGO TXT Steering Rack/Gearbox Replacement
Good Evening,
I have spent the past few hours going through the forums looking for this answer however I haven't figured it out yet. I have a 1998 EZGO TXT, and it doesn't like to turn left unless you're moving and even then it's sometimes finicky. I pulled the inspection cover off of the steering rack and can clearly see where the gears are wore done. My question is, how do you go about replacing JUST the steering rack? What is the benefit of replacing the entire steering box? Please provide direction as to how to replace both. I truly appreciate it. Thanks!! |

After you disconnect the tie rod end and loosen the tensioner (inspection cover) turn the wheel and the steering rack will come out of the box.
