Default Curtis 1206 hb-5201 controller

Ok gang. I fubar’d putting my main power wires back on my controller. The positive from the solenoid got hooked to the negative with the negative cable instead of the b+. Battery 5 got hot and melted the cable off. I corrected everything and it works now. Problem- i had the tune in it to go faster when i bought it. Now its a slow pig. Would putting the tune back in it fix it due to it maybe loosing program for removing it to weld? Or is the controller toast ? It doesnt even feel like 12 mph. Or is there another fix?

With the 1206HB-5201 controller, when you disconnect or reconnect any wires carrying power, you must put the run/tow switch in tow mode. You leave it in tow mode the entire time you are working on it, and not return it to run until all wiring work is finished. Leaving it in run can result in a corrupted controller. If you want to mail the controller to me, I can put it on the bench and check it over. If it is corrupted, I may be able to reflash it back to stock. Then I can apply the performance tune to it once again.

Wow, the fact it even survived is amazing! I would have been hesitant to even hook it back up correctly. I would assume the smoke would come rolling out.

I do not charge for doing it for forum members. You pay shipping to send it to me, and return shipping for me to return it to you. The 1206HB-5201 is a small controller, so you can wrap it in a padded envelope and insert that into a flat rate priority mail padded envelope. The member usgicollector can PM you my mailing address and instructions.
