Runs better at full throttle.Fuel system ills? Did you check tank lines for contamination? Fuel pump and vacuum lines?

I think it is electrical but not sure how or what to check without throwing parts at it. Is there suppose to be any kind of adjustment or special setting for magnet on flywheel? That is the only thing electrical that was moved during rebuild.

I would think that if it was fuel it would do it all the time. It may just be me but I think it does it more when the engine is cold.

Im not super familiar with that engine. I do know that the coil air gap on my v-twin has to be 0.016 +- 0.008. That is the distance between coil and flywheel.

Maybe someone with the exact spec for your engine will chime in.

Hate to repeat this but it is hard to imagine high revs and an electrical problem. Have you actualy looked in the fuel bowl on either carb?

Download the engine manual here:

How high of an rpm? Is it possible you are hitting the Rev limiter? Or is it sputtering throughout the power range? Throttle adjusted properly?

The fuel was treated with sea foam prior to rebuild. Not saying it isn't but I just don't think its fuel. The carb was cleaned during rebuild with a new needle, seat and O ring put on it. It doesn't do it every time which leads me more to electrical.
