Are you're sure it is not structurally intact? my 1998 had rust, but after hitting it with a rotary wire brush, it had plenty of "meat" to hold the batts, so I just coated it.

Your post above is very, very old so this project is likely long done. I, however, did a search on battery tray as I have a '90 with the same issue. I have found the parts from Buggies Unlimited but would love to forgo having to drag my GC out to a welding shop.

May ask what you eventually ended up doing?
