Default Beep code to check for chip in PDS?

I'm trying to figure out which "chip" is installed on a 48 V PDS cart. I tried the toggle between neutral and reverse 5 times....but I don't get any beeps after that.

I'm pretty sure the beep code only applies to Pre-2010 PDS (36V) carts with Curtis 1206MX controllers.

What controller do you have?

It's 2011 48v pds, but not sure which controller. Sounds like I will have to take the cover off either way.

This is not like my old 36v pds. Does this even take the freedom chip?

No, it doesn't change performance modes with different jumper plugs like the 36V PDS controller does.

It does have five different performance modes, but you have to have a Curtis handheld programmer to change them. The handheld device is also used for diagnostics. Basically, you have to take it to an EZGO dealer to get the mode changed, or buy/rent/borrow a programmer.

Like the 36V PDS, the max speed is about 18-19 MPH and as you can see in the picture you posted, the Curtis 1206HB is a 250A controller, so if you want more speed and torque, you'll have to upgrade the controller.

Check out the Alltrax XCT48x00TXT48. (The "x" is for 3, 4 or 5 - signifying a 300A, 400A or 500A controller.)

I'm not sure what the top speed will be, but with an XCT controller the RPM limit is user adjustable up to 8,000 and the max RPM with the 1206HB is limited to about 4,400, which is 18.9 MPH on 18" tires.

Here is a service manual for your cart.

The latest revision I have is 2010, which probably covers your cart, but it is too big (29.4MB) too attach to a post on this site and likely to be larger than your e-mail server will accept.
