That was the ticket. The park brake release mechanism has me back in shape.
The allen head screw that holds it in place stripped on the way out, so I had to straighten it out with a die. I also ran a tap into what ever that is it threads into. It was a bit tricky getting that screw to start. whatever it threads into was loose. I managed to get it pulled close enough to start, and the screw went on in and snugged up. Thanks to David at Revolution Golf Cars for nailing the diagnosis, as well as supplying the needed part. Cheers!

2014 Precedent...

Is the part that both locks and releases the parking brake? I too am having difficulty with park staying down, it seems super sensitive to release, i.e. my foot being on both the brake and park seems to keep it from locking, I can only lock it if my foot is touching the small park square. There is no pawl with MCOR2 and up Precedents?

i replaced the pawl assembly and had a terrible time getting that spring to go into the right position. is there a trick to squeezing the two ends together to position?
