If the serial number starts PQ it is a IQ drive system, if it starts PH it is an excel drive system. If you have intentions of upgrading the performance of the cart, there are a lot less options for the excel system. I don't think they are worse, just limited in aftermarket upgrades.

I know this is an older thread, but since many people revisit these I thought I would add one thought to rating years. You should consider the version of MCOR in your cart as this is a pretty big expense and seems to be a common point of failure. Here is a pretty good link for additional information...

I wouldn't have said an MCOR was particularly expensive. I bought one to just have in reserve because my original was surging but I haven't needed to swap it yet.

If anyone else was buying a cart like this today I would say that another possibility would be to try to find a good cart that DID need batteries, get it for a good price because of that and then convert it to lithium.
