Default Ez go rear end

I have a 2004 ez go txt 36v. What is the easiest way to fill the rear gear assembly. I noticed the drain plug on the bottom, I'm assuming that's also the check and fill? Not sure if the rear has ever been changed. Would it be a good idea to change and clean then refill.

Thats not the drain plug on the bottom, it's the fill plug.

To change it, you'll have to drop the pan.

To fill it, I used an empty transmission fluid bottle, filled with the correct oil and a 3-4' hose connected to it. Stick the other end of the hose in the pumpkin and let the oil drain into it. When it starts pouring out of the fill hole, you're done.

If you don't have an empty bottle or cap to fit a hose, you could probably use an old funnel or get a little oil pump from the parts store. The pumps are about $20

OR......since the amount of oil that goes in the rear end is only 10 oz......take the pan off.....clean everything out. prep your mating surfaces of the pan. put the required amount of oil in the pan and carefully put it on. DONE.

So I finally got around to changing the fluid. Glad I did. Oil definitely needed changed and whoever put the cover on last used regular silicone not rtv. The cover fell right off.
