Rear Flip-Fold seat
I'd like to add a rear flip-fold seat to my 1999 EZGO SERIES TXT 36V. Will upgraded springs be needed?

I have a 98 Ezgo TXT that I put a flip seat on. I am almost certain the springs were original.
I replaced them after adding the seat. It really needed some new springs. I went with the dual action leaf springs for mine and was very pleased. It added 2 inches in height and best part got rid of the driver side lean. Skip Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk |

When I replaced the rear leaf springs...I broke the old ubolt when putting it back on. It was advised to used new ubolts if putting on new leafs. They are inexpensive and a big hassle trying to hunt down the ubolts in the middle of the upgrade project.

It is safer for sure to put heavier duty springs on the back when rear seat kit is installed.

Speaking about safety...When I put on flip seat with the worn out leaf springs, the cart drove badly with weight on the back.
You could feel it when cornering... the back end of the cart wanted to dip into the turn. The new springs were much needed. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk |

I made 2" longer rear shackles from 1/4" flat steel stock I got from Lowes. Easy and cheap to do.
