New batterys still no go
I have a 2008 EZ-go 36v golf cart that was given to me. Was told it ran but had been sitting for 6 months and needs new batteries. I tried to charge them separately but they were toast. So I bit the bullet and installed 6 new ones. now I have power and buzzer it working but still no go. also the peddle does have a click when you push it forward. I put it in diagnostic mode and its telling me low voltage. but I have 37v when I checked it with my meter. any ideas?

Re: New batterys still no go
Also fully charged batteries are around 38.3v. 37v is around 70% charged. Put the battery charger on and let it run till it kicks off.

Re: New batterys still no go
I can push it no problem. I did put it on the charger and its charging now. I still thought even with 70% it should move. This is way all my other carts are gas lol.

Re: New batterys still no go
New batteries need to be fully charged prior to first use. (Even if vendor says they are fully charged. Charger them before use.)
New batteries need to be broken in. (Only have about 75% of rated storage capacity when new.) For remainder of their life, they need to be recharged after each use. (The higher average State of Charge maintained, the longer their usable lifespan.) Here are some links to battery knowledge. http://www.cartsunlimited.net/battery-faq.html http://www.cartsunlimited.net/battery-break-in-.html What make/model batteries installed? |
