Re: Help with Light Kit Wiring
Sergio,
Awesome info! Headlights, taillights, blinkers and horn work. I have no brake lights though. Any thoughts? |

Re: Help with Light Kit Wiring
To clarify, I hooked up the negative from the 12v battery to negative from the bucket harness. Are you saying that I need to hook up the negative from the 12v to the 48v pack negative?

Re: Help with Light Kit Wiring
This is one of the reasons why I prefer to connect the negatives together and create a single voltage reference.
Since You have a Precedent, the first question is, Do You have the brake relay installed in the harness behind the dash? http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...ml#post1248540If You do, You need to connect the negatives together (12v battery and pack negative) and make sure the gray wire with bullet connector on the 12-pin bucket harness connector is plugged in. The Precedent has a 48v relay in the dash harness that only provides power to the brake pedal switch when the Key switch is ON. If the relay is not installed and You don't have a way to cut the 12v OFF when the key switch is OFF, You need to install a 48v relay as shown in that post I linked. 48v Relay (The harness already has a diode): http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/...HO3CeSfQ%3D%3D |

Re: Help with Light Kit Wiring
Sergio,
Thanks again for the feedback! As an update, I ran a ground wire from the 12v negative to the 48v pack negative and now I have brake lights! |
