Default 48 to 12 volt reducer woes

Silly question possibly, but what is the best setup for a precedent voltage reducer from the pack? I have the 4 - 12 setup and I'd like to get the light's load off of a single battery.

Every video like madjax and DIY golf cart use the plug and go harness on the factory harness. However, they only state that this is for the front light/rear lights. I would like to run any future accessories from the reducer as well. Are there plug and play harnesses able to be added to? Should I just start from scratch with a high amperage reducer? There are diagrams everywhere but no videos or talk about how to hook up accessories to the non loom type. I know Dave and Scotty have reducers for sale but I'm not too confident with electrical, even though this is totally DIYable. With good instructions, I've tackled many many harder projects.

I think you are making a wise decision especially if you're going to add other accessories. I would recommend purchasing a 20-30 amp rated reducer equipped with a trigger wire connected to the key switch for on-off control of the reducer and 12 volt system. If you use a factory charger and OBC then I would suggest connecting the 48 volt (-) to the B- connection on the controller so the OBC can account for power used by the accessories during charge cycles. I would purchase a 12 volt power fuse block with ground bus and circuit each accessory with its own independent fuse and dash switch. Being a DS owner I can't advise on locating the reducer/fuse block but I'm sure others will come along and advise. Good Luck!
