RXV suddenly stop
Looking for help why my 2011 RXV suddenly stops (like brake applied). I have to turn the key to the off position, then to reverse, back up a few feet, then I can go forward again. I have brand new 1-month old batteries. It has operated fine until this problem begun a couple days ago. Thanks in advance for your input.

Re: RXV suddenly stop
My guess is the motor brake is failing.

Re: RXV suddenly stop
It's probably the brake like jneubig said. If you haven't already smelled something like an electrical burning smell you will soon. That's the friction material on the brake overheating because it's dragging. The brake is easy to replace. Be sure to follow the service manual about aligning the disc and torque specs on the three bolts. Use a torque wrench or the brake probably won't last long. Use the lowest torque that meets the spec. I think that is 50 inch pounds but it's been a while since I replaced one.
