Default 36 volt ezgo

As the tirle says, A 36 volt ezgo TXT new batteries runs great. Then one time you try to go and nothing. Come back after a while or the next day and the cart runs great for a few days Then all over again. This cart did sit in the garage for a few years. But new batteries were installed and fully charged. What could fail just every now and then.

Sounds like a bad connection?.....Does it do it when its warmer and not cooler?

Plug and unplug and inspect any connectors, and look at all connections, look for corrosion.

If it is a series drive cart, there is a microswitch on the F/R switch assembly as well as one on the pedal box. The contacts of both have to be closed for the cart to run.

Both of these microswitches use the NC (Normally Closed) contacts, which are held open by the cam in the F/R switch until a direction is selected or by the collar of the metal rod that is inserted into the ITS sensor when the pedal is pushed. What actually closes the NC contacts is a small spring the weakens on time and usage as well as debris building up in and on the switch. When the spring gets weak enough or the debris builds up enough, the switch will start working intermittently and eventually fail completely.

If you don't hear the solenoid click when the cart misbehaves, the problem may very well be one (or both) of those microswitches.
