Yewey or DPI
Apparently my charger is dying throwing fault codes prior to finish charging.... what is ya'lls experience with each of the two? Any negatives on either?

Re: Yewey or DPI
What charger do you have?
Are you sure it's the charger and not the batteries? The DPI gen 3 has a significant history of generally good, reliable performance on this forum. The gen 4 is out now and apparently doesn't have a float capability like the gen 3 did. A concern to some. The Yewey may be fine but is new so no history here. I would consider the Lester Links or Summit also. |

Re: Yewey or DPI
Delta q QuiQ. Not real sure but i check my batteries weekly and i put the cart on charge and it will not get to full charge. When i go check the charger after the charge stops there is a error code two flashes red light. Says batteries are less than .5 volts per cell ,and the Pack voltage is at 52 when charger cuts off and error lights flashing. After about 8-10 hour rest pack voltage is 50.42 with Two batteries at 8.37 and the rest are 8.43 8.46 8.40 and 8.43

Re: Yewey or DPI
I would say the condition of your batteries is suspicious. Charger should bring the pack above 60v. They are only charging to 90% at best and the resting voltage of individual batteries are quite different from each other. Should all be within .1 volt.
Are all the batteries the same brand, age and capacity? Measure the pack voltage under hard acceleration and/or going up a hill. Pack should not drop below 41-42 volts. If it drops lower, repeat the test measuring each battery. One weak one will bring the whole pack down and cause charging irregularities. I think we need to prove the health of the batteries before assuming the charger is bad. |

They are the same age. November was one year. Crown 190. I have checked pack voltage under load and according to the digital dash meter it is staying above 41 volts. I am doing a second charge now then going to check each battery under load. This all happened in a week is the strange thing to me. Last week pack charged to 50.9 at rest? The reason I’m questioning my charger. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Yewey or DPI
I went with the DPI GenIV. It has a built in equalization charge mode. It equalizes the batteries every 15 charge cycles. This will prevent the batteries from becoming sulfated and keep the batteries balanced. Which BTW sounds like the problems you are having.
