Default 91 Marathon Won't move again

so we finally got the cart moving! However not all the lights worked. So my hubby bought LED's. I ran separate wiring/switch to a 12v in the "trunk". I traced all the old lighting wiring & removed it. But now the cart won't move again!

We had it charging all day. I tested each battery & they're reading slightly over 6V. For safety reasons, I disconnected the positive wire while messing with the wiring. The meter shows full charge, but as soon as I press the accelerator, it drops.

I really need to get this running by Wed! Any feedback is appreciated.

Make sure you re-tightened the positive wire.

I've double checked all the wiring. At first the negative wire for the voltage meter was on the positive post, but I switched that. Now it shows fully charged.

Just not sure why the voltage drops as soon as the pedal is hit. I should add that I can hear the solenoid clicking when the pedal is pushed.

My husband isn't good with wiring, but I am. Only problem is he tries to help but me seeing the wiring before removing it helps!

"..Finally got the cart moving!"

What is the history on this?

We bought the cart last year. We were told it worked the previous year, but had to play with the f/r knob. So I started with replacing the batteries, nothing. So I checked all the wiring. Found both wires from POT to F/R switch broke off. We replaced the F/R switch, solenoid & some batteries cables. Once we did that & fixed the wiring from the POT, it ran.

Over the weekend, I wired LED's to a 12v battery so that we could have lights this weekend. Once done, we were going to drive it around to see how the lights worked. Well, it moved for like a second. Batteries are charged at over 6v each. As soon as I hit the pedal, the meter drops to the red. I can hear the solenoid clicking, but no movement.

UPDATE!!!! I got it to move again. Looks like the controller is crapping out on us. If you bang on it a few times, it will run. Until you stop!

Is there a way to "clean" the controller? I already cleaned all the connectors.

If you are sure the connections are clean, snug, and good, I don't know what to say about banging on the controller.

I'm wondering if it's not the pedal microswitch. It just randomly moves when it wants to. That's the cheapest part to replace!

Banging on the controller will not affect the microswitch.

I had a microswitch issue on my 2000 TXT when I first got it that was very sporadic -- my reverse would only work every second or third time I tried it. I was actually able to take it out and clean all of the connectors with a wire brush and it has been good for over a year now.
