Default Losing Voltage??

Is it normal for a cart to lose voltage while being parked for several days? With the key off, and in tow mode, could there be anything drawing power? All my accessory lights are wired to the key switch..

I fully charged the cart last weekend (Sunday). Yesterday the pack voltage was only at 37.3..

Default Re: Losing Voltage??

Yes, the battery pack voltage will decrease when the cart sits.

In and of themselves, the batteries self-discharge at about 1% SoC per day, but some brands self discharge more than others.

Also, keeping the filter capacitors in the controller is a drain on the batteries. but I'm not sure if the capacitors in a XCT are kept charged when in Tow.

Also, if the batteries aren't clean on top, there can be a conductive path between the poles and discharging will occur.

The pack was down to about 75% SoC, how long did the cart sit?

JohnnieB-
The cart was fully charged Sunday evening and I put the multimeter on the pack Saturday night to get my 37.3 reading...so roughly 6 days. When you say batteries drain 1% per day, were you referring to each individual battery or the whole pack? The tops of the batteries are always kept clean and topped off to the correct levels.
