Re: 36v Club Car charger will not shut off
Well guys and gals, I rewired and plugged the relay back together the way it should be, plugged into the cart, got the infamous click, plugged it in and it's charging. It already had a full charge on it, so, it's already at 45 3, and the needle has dropped to **** near zero within 10 minutes. Will Shuffle around here in the garage a while to see if it shuts itself off. How high is too high of a charge past 45.5 volts?

Re: 36v Club Car charger will not shut off
Welp, about an hr & it shut itself down...
Guess it's either "fixed or fried". . Only time will tell now. I unplugged everything and pushed the carts plug back in once and it gave that click but didn't give it any AC. Still wondering why someone would have done the bypass in the first place... Thanks for all the input folks !!! |

Re: 36v Club Car charger will not shut off
Well, it's been a few weeks & the charger seems to be in working order...
Finally got to finish up the little utility bed, get rid of the ridiculous "Griswold" wood grain contact paper, added a voltage reducer, some lighting, & much needed maint. Knock on wood! It's running rather well for an old cart. Needed something to get me around my property here and the camp. But I will say, now that I am retired and have time to play with this stuff more, this is very addicting. Actually thinking of picking up a newer cart to go "BGW" on it and possibly plow a bit with it instead of using my four-wheeler while I'm up here in the winter. (n.e Oh). Again, thanks for all the input on the charger issues and I'm sure there will be more to come I built this bed out of stainless rather than steel thinking it wouldnt rust like the other that I had on one of my other cards that was actually made out of metal shelving which was a lot easier to drill through for braces brackets and a tailgate. Kind of looks the same. Oh well, just playin' & sayin hey. Gonna rain here next 2-3 dayz. |
