Not really, 8 6v are better from what I’ve read plus I have recent batteries

Luke was saying the physical size of the batteries are the same regardless of them being 6v or 8v. So they can fit in the same battery tray.

The other option for going to 48v is to get eight 6v batteries and put the extra two in the bagwell at the back, but most people just put in six 8v batteries.

The cart has a 2-3 hp motor. The power to weight ratio is a critical factor in performance. 8/6v weight about 500 pounds. 6/8v weight about 150 pounds less. The cart weights 500 pounds without batteries. A rear seat weighs 100 pounds. It's easy to tip the scales at 15-25% above what the motor was designed for.
If recent 6v batteries were not a factor the lighter 8/6v pack is the better option. Carrying more weight eats up some of the benefits of holding more amperage.
