Default Drive Clutch Testing - Quick Confirmation

When i squeeze the inner and outer together with my hands, they collapse very easily. I'm pretty sure I read that is the sign of failure on these, but cannot find the post again.

Can anyone confirm or dispute?

For those who replace their drive clutch, is the comet clutch a worthy upgrade?

If the belt is coming to the top you're good to go.

The drive clutch should move easily, the driven clutch should not.

I have a Comet 780 clutch that came with my VC460 from Vegas Carts. I have been running it for about 4 years now without any problems. The hour meter I put on the motor when I got it and the clutch has something like 375 hours the last time I looked at it. It is easy to change springs and weights in them. I did it to mine and so it idles along smoother at 5 mph. Beltpalace is a good source for Comet parts.
