Re: SS wheel caps keep falling off :(
Both unfortunately.
The lugs are currently on only hand tight as the cart is just sitting as I work on it. It is basically a roller but it moves very little. I have it stripped down to install the controller and stuff before I order batteries (it was a free cart and had nothing but the frame and body, and I'm gonna ditch the body and put a Double Take Spartan on it). I can only imagine how quick the caps will fly off once this thing actually moves :( |

Re: SS wheel caps keep falling off :(
That (to me) looks like a horrible design. Can you just use the type that have a flange and go in from the rear? They can't fall off.

Re: SS wheel caps keep falling off :(
I don't disagree! I have not looked into a cap that installs from the rear (I have those on vehicle wheels so I know what you are talking about) and don't even know where to begin.

Re: SS wheel caps keep falling off :(
I would use a silicone instead on glue. the caps will have to come off when you need new tires

Re: SS wheel caps keep falling off :(
Try putting a little silicon on each of the tabs then installing them.

Re: SS wheel caps keep falling off :(
Good point on the possibility of having to pull the caps and silicone. I am kind of particular and am struggling with the idea of attaching them other than how they are designed (which I think we all agree is poorly!). The initial thought I had was to try and find some sort of "disc" that would fit the opening that I could customize to fit somehow. If it was aluminum I could polish it to somewhat match the chrome on the wheel. I don't need to have something protruding out, but I don't want to have just an opening either.
I see the SS wheels sold all over; did I really get the only set that does this |

Re: SS wheel caps keep falling off :(
Yah silicon or rubber cement. . Just enough to hold them on. You dont need much , just a few dabs on each

Re: SS wheel caps keep falling off :(
I think Moon is talking about this style, slips in from the back before you put the wheel on. Several styles available, ebay, amazon, site sponsors...
