The last time I asked my dealer about the algorithm he said that he assumed it was correct and that they didn’t change them btw. It’s a small shop but they have a good reputation so I bought from them. 2 sets of batteries in 3 years. There is clearly something wrong. Last set was Trojan.

If it has one the negative pack main cable will go through it and look like this

No OBC. But it looks like there is a solenoid valve in its place. So the charger is controlling charging correct? So likely the algorithm is the next thing to try?

Solenoid in the picture is the main contactor. You could try changing the profile or just let it keep charging and see if it shuts off.

Cool. Seems like I need to try a new profile because the last set of batteries only lasted 20 months and I was diligent about watering them only after charge and they used a lot of water.

Profile is 256. Not listed on Delta Q site. Other BGW threads show this same profile on Club Cars w the same charging situation saying that it is a float charge. I’m gonna call Delta Q tomorrow and see what they say. I don’t want to lose another set of batteries in 20 months.

As far as I know Diehard batteries are/were made by Johnson Controls. I’m sure delta Q should have an algorithm that should work for those.

Your other pack certainly got cooked to death by being charged using the wrong algorithm.
Trojan batteries need algorithm #3. Make sure to let your dealer know they cooked your batteries and need to change the charge algorithm in these chargers. These units have been in use for 6 years now, there’s no reason a dealer shouldn’t know that the charger needs to be updated when the batteries are changed. Club Car and Delta Q specifically say this in the owners manual for the charger.

Will do - thanks for the information. I’ll follow up to add the correct algorithm for Die Hard to the thread so that folks can find it in the future.
