Default Which 48 to 12 volt converter is best?

Is there a general consensus as to which 48 volt to 12 volt converter is best for running accessories?

Going to be installing lights, USB, and some other accessories in the near future and don't want to purchase a cheap voltage converter.

No problems with sizing it correctly, but is there a favored brand that has a proven reliability record?

Yes. Get a 30A one with 5 wires. Scotty has a good one https://www.cartsunlimited.net/12v-reducers.html as does David https://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/voltage-reducers. They are forum sponsors and give a lot of free advice so it is best to give them the business.

Hook it up as shown in this diagram. If you have a cart with an OBC then it is important to hook the negative to the B- of the controller rather than straight to the batteries. This way the OBC will know how much energy the reducer is taking and run the charger properly to put it back. The Precedent has a black cable with a yellow bullet connector behind the batteries for this purpose (that cable is attached to B-). If you have a later cart with no OBC and using a smart charger then you can hook it to B- or straight to the battery pack, it doesn't matter.

Why are they listed as 20amp and 3amp but then say "For low draw applications (less than 5 amps)" ??

That doesn't make sense.

I agree. I don't know why they would specify that.

Link please? I can't find anywhere on my site where it says this. If you can send me a link I'll fix it if there's something wrong.

I suspect he means here. It's suitable for low draw applications, IN ADDITION to full draw, is how I read it.
