Default Controller upgrade for more torque/power

I'm new to the golf cart world and just bought a 2004 36v EZgo TXT Series. It doesn't get much speed or power when going uphills. I believe the current stock controller power is at 250 amp. If I ONLY upgrade the controller and solenoid to achieve 500 or 600 amp, will this help with power on hills. I'm not looking to replace the motor now. I'm also going to eventually convert to 48V, but that will prob be in a year or 2. Thanks for any advice?

to answer your question....YES, but also should upgrade the F&R switch as well.

600 amp controller will melt a stock fnr switch because of the heat.

Welp,.....if your on a budget and can't get the controller and F&R switch at the same time, if you get an Alltrax controller you can adjust the settings as to how many amps the controller will "allow" to be given to the cart. This may decrease the initial performance but when you upgrade the F&R switch.......change the settings again to allow for more amps.
