This crack can’t be good
When inspecting my 2006 ACG H3 (CC Precedent/DS parts) noticed this crack in the steering assembly. The steering rack appears to be from a DS.
Any thoughts from the group? Is it a safety issue? What is this part called? Thanks |

Re: This crack can’t be good
Its a DS frame.
I wouldn't suspect any precedent parts to be on there, but don't know much about ACG carts. There should be two bolts going all the way through that bearing support. One side of the frame all the way through the support and out the other side of the frame with lock nuts on the ends. The crack isn't much concern honestly, if it was actually bolted in the way it's supposed to be, but where did the bolts go? |

The steering rack looks as if it was right off a DS. Thanks for the info on the cracked part. I’m going to try and find a replacement anyway. Hopefully that is also a DS part. |

Re: This crack can’t be good
Could the holes for the bolt head be slotted from the factory for assembly or elongated due to loose bolts?
I think the bolt is there since I can see a portion of it through the nut. Try putting a 9/16" socket on the bolt head and see if it is loose. |

Re: This crack can’t be good
Ok, maybe the holes are supposed to be slotted, couldn’t remember for sure.
As long as the bolts are tight, then I would leave it alone. That block is the bearing support for the steering shaft and holder for the steering column and it’s pretty stout. |
