HELP!! 97 Club Car DS goes full speed at touch of the pedal

Hi all, Newbie here, but have read some threads and want to thank you all for some great insight and advice. This question has been asked before and I have read each post in it's entirety, but still was not able to formulate a plan for my particular issue.

VEHICLE: 1997 Club Car DS/Electric (New to me)(LOL)

MY ISSUE:

I just obtained this from someone in town. He advised of a problem with the acceleration.

When you turn on the vehicle and place into FORWARD. At the touch of the pedal you will hear the click. Then OFF YOU GO.. Full Speed. You have to press the pedal almost to the floor to slow. If you go all the way to the floor, the click is heard and the vehicle will stop. If you slowly release the pedal from the floor, again click is heard and the vehicle will slowly start to move. The more you allow the pedal up, the faster you will go.

When you place the vehicle in REVERSE, depressing the pedal does nothing until almost 95% down. All of a sudden it clicks and you go in reverse full speed.

WHAT WAS DONE

The previous owner stated that he replaced the batteries with new batteries and he replaced the solenoid. He said he believed something was crossed here.

I have read other posts and ensure that there was no water in a few areas. I will attached pictures to give you the best look at what I have.

If anyone can help with some step by step process of elimination here, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Picture 4. The resistor on the solenoid looks like its melted. If the has gotten hot enough to melt, its a sign of a controller issue.

Great find. When I was looking at the Solenoid I noticed it being black as well. So you believe that this current issue is a controller issue or do you believe that it is a whole other issue?

Cant be certain. It seems that your throttle is working backwards. Check the small wires on the controller. Should be red#1 green #2 yellow#3. Since the resistor is melted I would assume A theres wires in the wrong spot or B the controller is the issue.

How does the V-glide look? Is there any melting inside? How do the contacts look?
