RXV Hub
Went to install some new Wheels/Tires on my friends 2006 RXV. Nothing fancy - 205/65-10's on 10" rims, same size as currently installed.
Installed the rears with no problem, fronts would not mount. I realized that the hubs were not standard (see photo). The black part (that looks like a brake drum, but isn't) is approx 8.5" diameter, too large to fit inside the wheel. Anyone familiar with this setup, and what wheels will fit? 20210923_142212.jpg |

Re: RXV Hub
Weighted hubs. Usually on a gas cart or lithium. You can change the hub to a standard ezgo front hub. Probably cheaper than buying new wheels. That is also not an RXV. Looks like a TXT. It has a locking brake and front springs.

Weights are typically added to vehicles to shift center of gravity or to counterbalance weight elsewhere on the vehicle. Why would they be on the cart in the first place? and how will performance/ride of the cart be impacted by swapping to standard hubs? |

Re: RXV Hub
I dont see a problem with changing them out to regular hubs. Typically they are on carts that are light such as gas carts or lithium carts. Older carts also had them if they had a cargo box ive seen to help keep the weight balanced and the front of the cart from being squirrelly. The only difference youll notice is the steering will be easier and the front of the cart wont be so heavy. I change them all the time at request of a customer. It would be cheaper to replace them than to locate and buy rims to fit that hub, assuming that is the problem is that the wheels don't fit the hub.
