charger clicks on, then off, on, then off

97 EzGo 36vt

batteries are fine, golf cart is running fine. we rode it a bunch yesterday but here lately, when I plug it up sometimes, the charger clicks on, then off, on, then off...it will do that over and over until you just unplug it...I can go out there later and plug it back in and then charge up fine..sometimes

right now, I cant get it to charge...just clicks on then off....the meter will go up when it clicks on, then back all the way down when it turns off

any ideas?

Welcome to bgw ... The receptical connections (rad soks) get worn and cause an intermittent connection. Try holding the plug up (or down) while it is connected and see if that keeps the charger on. If it does then you need a pr of rad soks

I've also seen this happen because of a loose connection. Double check all your connections on the cart to make sure nothing has come loose.

when I got home this evening, I plugged it in and it charged up fine...
