36V EZGO Charge indicator blinks
On my 2001 36V EZ GO, I have a question.
It has the typical led voltmeter on the dash. When I leave it plugged in all night, the charger goes from 10-14 amps down to 1-3 amps in the morning and runs like it's got a great charge. But at all times whether it's fully charged or been using it all day, the meter just blinks from the lowest level to one bar up. If I disconnect a battery from the pack and let it sit for 60 seconds, and reconnect the cable, the charge level goes all the way to the top, but within 5 minutes of driving, goes right back to blinking at the lowest level again. But the cart runs fine and goes all day without slowing down. I talked to the previous owner, and it did the same thing to him, he put a new set of Trojan batteries in it and no change. They are 2 years old now. I measured the battery voltage in the morning after charging all night, and the batteries read between 6.36 and 6.37 but pack voltage was 40.9 volts. That seems like 100% percent charge. It didn't do this for the first 6 months or so I owned it, but has been doing it all Summer now. Any clues? Battery gauge? Thanks, Bill |

Re: 36V EZGO Charge indicator blinks
Bill, check your connections for the battery gauge to make sure they are tight, and have a good connection. If all tests out well then your meter is going bad.
