Default Stud Removal ('08 CC Precedent)

I stripped one of the four studs in the process of putting the front left tire back on. Do I just try to knock it out with a hammer? Does the hub assembly have to be removed first? Help!!

Not sure, you might have to remove the shoes to gain access? if you can rap it with a 2-3 pound hammer it should pop out the back and you can install a new one by putting the lug nut on backwards and running it down with a power tool.

Ok. Thanks to all. I was thinking that it would be better for me to remove the hub all together and place it along with some wood supports in a bench vise to remove the stud. I'll let you know the outcome.

UPDATE: I removed the left front hub and took it to my bench vise. I used a hammer to remove the stripped lug stud by tapping on it without any problem.

Glad you got it out. When you put in the new one in and install the tire, don't strip it!
