New to the E-Z-GO Golf Cart
Good morning everyone. I have a question about older E-Z-GO golf carts.
I have never owned one but I had one given to me that the owner said it ran until the batteries would not hold a charge anymore. What should I look for to see if it is worth buying new batteries for it. Also what other things should I look for before putting money into it. I dont know the year because the tag is missing but from doing research it looks to be 1979-85 model. Thanks for your help. |

Re: New to the E-Z-GO Golf Cart
Welcome to BGW
It's a 36v cart, if you have 3 -- 12v batteries, hook them up to test it, and see if it runs, then if it runs and you want to fix it up, then buy new batteries |

Re: New to the E-Z-GO Golf Cart
The cart is designed to run on 6/6v batteries, he is saying test it with 3/12v batteries. The voltage is the same only the amperage is greatly reduced.

Re: New to the E-Z-GO Golf Cart
I'am not telling you to go buy 12v batteries, take 1 out of the boat, one out of the car, and, and, -- i just figured you could find 3 12v batteries to make sure the cart runs,
it will not run long on 3 - 12v batteries |

Re: New to the E-Z-GO Golf Cart
The cart looks pretty solid. If the rest of the frame, etc is as good as the body appears to be, it's worth a few bucks to rebuild it. Rather than replace the older electrics, update it with newer stuff and you'll have a cart to be proud of. Check with Scottyb for all the parts you'll need.

Not to shabby for a 30+ year old cart
