EZ go ignition switch!
im new to this site, anyway i have a 2000 ezgo 36 volt cart, while putting radio in already had 12v for radio there seperate for the radio.as i was putting it in i took the top wire of the ignition switch and wired it to radio for acc,and it worked.while i was taking every thing back off it grounded the switch out and stopped working,so i took the 12v that i had there for my radio and connected to the ignition key,(bottom) and the cart works now.im just trying to make sure that the ignition key is suppose to be 12v?does this make sense?any help would be greatly appreciated!thanx

Re: EZ go ignition switch!
The key switch is almost certainly at battery pack voltage, IE: 36 volts, not 12 volts.
Did you really expect a reply in a half-hour's time? Your original message was posted at 4:39 PM, the followup at 5:06...?? |

Re: EZ go ignition switch!
I think this will help you both.
The Ezgo 4 terminal switch has both 36v and 12v present. It is actually 2 separate switch circuits operated by 1 key. There are 2 separate power supplies, one 36v+ and one 12v+ Here is a quick diagram showing the identification and location of the terminals from one of my meter install instruction sheet. |

Re: EZ go ignition switch!
so the one coming in should be 36 or better volts?on the back of my key switch is two wires one on bottom my guess is the power comming in,and on top power out,im new to these carts man,i took the 12 volt and put it on the bottm of the key switch and the cart works, but i dont want to mess anything up,the other wire that was previously on the bottom went out,i looked for a fuse but couldnt find one,so i traced it and looks like it was connectted to a male spade where the reverse box inside,i just dont want to mess anything up.thanx in advance
