Default Difference

Between a DS and a precedent besides looks?

Any advantages of one over another?

I have had both but sold my ds recently. The advatages of the Precedent is a heavier duty frame And a battery bucket. Thats about all I can think of now. The big question is what you will be using the cart for and to choose either a shunt or series system.

Not in my opinion. Except for model precedents after 2008.5

Shunt or series?...

The cart will get modded, but will just be for around our neighborhood with my kids and me.

The series is a little better for say hunting on hilly terrain, otherwise shunt is fine.

The reason for the questions is I bought a 2001 DS, but literally just saw a 2007 precedent for 300 more....

That 2007 is a shunt, yours could be either, if you have a lever style forward reverse switch it is series, if it is push button i is shunt.

Club Car is going to stop DS production soon, so aftermarket parts could slowly become more difficult to find.
