Default Motor testing

I picked up a 94 marathon that controller had been ripped out of. Also have to put some new battery racks in it. Is there anyway to test motor still in cart without battery's installed? I have a couple more motors but would like to test this one without pulling it out if I could.

You HAVE to test them installed, or have a special set up as the motor doesn't have a bearing internal to the motor. once you take the motor out of the differential, the motor has no support on that one end.

Here this should help you

With no batteries hooked up

Mark all four cables so you get them back on the same terminals.
Use two wrenches to remove cables. Second wrench goes on the lower nut to keep the stud from turning.

Jack rear wheels of cart off ground and put cart on jack stands.
Jumper A1 to S1
Connect jumper cable from A2 to positive post on 12V battery.
Momentarily touch jumper cable from S2 to negative post on 12V battery.
