Default I keep flooding my 91 club car.

Hi peeps,
This is my first post. I know someone in here will know what I’m doing wrong.
I just completely rebuild my 91 club car. When I was done it started to smell like gas and I had gas in my oil. So I took the carb off and cleaned it up, again. It still flooded. So I bought a new carb, put it on and it ran fine for about a week. Then it started flooding again and won’t start, there is gas in my oil again also.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Thank you

How's your engine compression? My '90 was doing something similar to what your was the other day after rebuild and my valves weren't seating. You may have unburned fuel getting in there that's leaking down into the oil. Did you check for valve clearance when you put the valves back in using the little pucks/tappet caps on top of the valves?

I had good valve clearance when I did the rebuild.
The weird part for me is that it went away when I put the new carb on. But came back in a few days.

After it floods, does the air intake hose have fuel in it? If not, then its coming from the fuel pump, not the carb.

Check the pulse line from the engine to the pump for fuel. If the pump ruptures it can fill the engine with fuel through that line.

FairTax, are you talking about the line that comes off the top of the carb that loops around the top and hangs down on the opposite side?

I took the carb off yesterday and cleaned it. I put it back on and it ran great. It sat overnight and this morning it smelled like gas in my garage again. And now it won’t fire again.

Are you saying the fuel pump could be causing this?
The pump is definitely working. I know this because I forgot to hook it up to the carb yesterday and sprayed gas all over 😳

The small hose that comes off the top of the carb that loops around the top and hangs down the opposite side is just a bowl vent.

The pulse line is the hose that runs from the nipple on the crankcase up to the bottom nipple on the fuel pump.

What should I look for on the pulse line?

There is no gas in the pulse line. But I can feel air flowing around the fuel pump when it is trying to start.
