RXV Conversion to Lithium - Almost Done (I hope)
I have a 2017 RXV and just converted to the Dakota Lithium 48V 96AH battery. So far no issues. I added a battery shunt and gauge to monitor discharge rate and that seems to be working as well. After 18 holes of golf the battery capacity is still 80%. I would like to take the original charging port out of the equation but my understanding is that in order for the cart to function the blue wire from the charging port needs to be connected to the + side of the battery. Would someone smarter than me please weigh in as currently I have the old charging port still connected along with the gray temperature sensor wire but I'm now using a lithium charger with an Anderson connection. My hope is to remove the old charging port and put the Anderson receptacle in its place. Can I run the blue wire directly to the + side of the battery and resolve the issue or is there more to it than that?
Thanks in advance - This is a great resource for all! |
