Default Replacing original motor with a GE motor???

I was given a GE 5hp motor and wanted to replace my 3.5 hp CC motor.
Original motor:

GE Motor:

Unfortunately, the CC motor has this plug on the top of it:

that plug fits into this receptacle:

the GE Motor has no plug like that:

Do any of you know the purpose of that plug and is it bypassable, or is there a converter or anything I could use? Is this GE Motor (from a 99 CC)even compatible with my 03 CC?

I removed the old motor, as you can see. I hooked all the wiring up to the new motor (just the wiring, didnt actually install the motor) just to see if the shaft would spin when I hit the pedal, but it didnt, but when I re-wired the original motor back to it, it ALSO didnt spin. I can hear something clicking when the pedal is pressed...If I blew something, what would most likely be the thing that would have blown? OBC, or Controller...or possibly a Solenoid? Or do I actually have to completely install the motor for the shaft to spin?

sure, completely rebuild the windings.... that was a sarcastic no :-)

The way they channel voltage through fields are entirely different. There might be a way to do something with it, but I highly doubt it.

arrrrrrgggghhhh......man, I was hoping not to hear that, but thanks for the info. Do you have any idea what the function of that recepticle is? Is that straight to the controller?

That is a sensor for the controller. The 4/5.5 HP motor is a D-380.....best I can tell.

It's a speed sensor, if it goes out on your motor your controller will slow your car down to 3 mph....

Anyone have a take on this?

That is kinda weird. It should still work but it depends on how you hooked it up. If you hooked the feilds to feilds and the armature to armature theoretically nothing should have gone wrong. If you hooked it up any other way yes it possible. If anything is blown its probly the controller. I would get it all back together the way it is supposed to be and be sure its right and then start diagnosing it.

The plug-in has to do with the regen and electronic braking of the computer.
